I had a wonderful experience at Diablo Auto Specialists. I was in need of a new auto mechanic, and I found out about this auto repair shop on yelp. I shopped around for various quotes for replacing my car's brake pads, and their prices seemed fair. I received excellent service, and I really got the impression that they were honest folks. They performed the job well, and I will definitely go back to Diablo Auto Specialists for future needs.

I used this shop two times in the last 3-5 years. Both times I was really impressed by first-class service, great explanations, straightforward actions and even cost deductions as applicable. For example, they ran a diagnostic test, but charged me only for a portion of it because it discovered a problem early on. How many shops will do that? Moderate pricing for first-class service.

Tim is the best. We found him on the CarTalk site and have been going to him ever since. Tim serviced my Honda Odyssey, and now my Toyota Highlander Hybrid. He takes care of my husband's Toyota Camry and my son's ancient Honda Accord. Tim is a rare thing in the auto-service world, honest and skilled. He always takes time to explain what he is planning, in a language that mere mortals can understand...and frankly, it is a pleasure to spend a few minutes each time I go in, chatting with him about the world in general!I have been going to Tim for so long now, that I barely remember that vaguely uncomfortable feeling that used to accompany car service trips. That feeling that you are not quite sure what is happening to your beloved vehicle...and that you are probably being taken advantage of for your own ignorance to some degree. It is like going to a trusted family doctor...you just feel certain that you are in good hands.I have never written an internet review in my life....I had to sign up for a yelp account just to write this totally unsolicited review...that should speak to the depth of my satisfaction with my experiences with Tim and his Staff! Thanks for making this little piece of my life emotionally effortless and actually kinda fun.

The transmission in my 1998 Honda started to slip so I called Diablo Auto Specialists after reading the great reviews on Yelp to get an appt. I spoke to Tim the owner, he explained what he thought was going on and helped work around my schedule to get me in ASAP. When I went to my appt. Tim knew who I was by my appt. time and remembered everything I'd told him - very personable! I didn't have to wait at all. He took my car into the shop and Mike the mechanic did a test drive, he couldn't duplicate my problem, but agreed to drive with me so I could show him. My transmission didn't slip while driving with Mike, but he gave me his full attention and didn't disregard anything I said. He also gave me advice and said to drop by when my car was acting up. I used to work at a dealer and I can't say we ever gave such great customer service, so I was highly impressed and have already recommended them. Thank you Tim and Mike! :

These guys are awesome. Very clean shop, knowledgable staff. They drop off when they can and there's never any follow-up needed after a service. My last mechanic just couldn't seem to reset the service intervals consistently, requiring an extra trip, this is not an issue with these guys. Highly recommend.

Tim is a really great man that runs his business well. My car broke down last year in WC and called the nearest auto repair shop that towed pretty late. He made some calls and got a tow truck to get my car at a very reasonable price. My cars radiator was busted and had him repair everything and did it very quickly. I knew my way around the hood and what was wrong with the car and yet he still insisted on showing me what exactly happened. Great man! Thanks again for everything.

Tim is now the only person I will trust with my car. He's honest and isn't in business to take advantage of anyone. He's always explained things clearly and never does anything without explaining it first. I am in the process of car shopping and will only get something Tim can work on.

I will only take my truck to Tim. He runs an honest business and always explains things in a language that I understand. I also know that I can call him with minor problems and he'll tell me honestly whether or not I need to bring it in. He won't have me bring it in just so they can charge me to look at it. My roommate had a nightmare experience with another auto shop now closed a few doors down from Diablo Auto Specialists and I suggested she take her car to Tim. They fixed what the nightmare auto shop never seemed able to. They also didn't charge her for the labor fixing what the other auto shop screwed up. When she asked Tim why he would do that when it wasn't his company's fault he just said well, it wasn't your fault either. I don't know many people that would go that far above and beyond what is expected of them. Tim treats his staff and his customers extremely well and I will continue to take my truck to him whenever it needs a tune up.

Owner Tim Stussi provides excellent customer service that is thoughtful, patient and informative. I see no reason to take my family's cars anywhere else, ever.

i brought my car because it was making a strange noise and i had skipped my last major service, so i wanted to get a general tuneup in addition to getting the weird noise checked out. i got the maintenance done first and found out that i needed to replace brake pads and get the rotors machined. i called around a few other places for estimates, including the dealership, and although price-wise diablo auto specialists wasn't the cheapest, i was impressed by the owner tim's willingness to take the time to talk me through my concerns and answer all the questions that i had i had a lot!. also, i like that this shop specializes in hondas and other japanese cars, and is a small mom and pop-type operation so can offer more personalized service. case in point: although they no longer have a shuttle service, they are flexible and willing to work with you if you can't come by to pick your car up before they close. also, they're really close to the WC bart station so you can walk there in a pinch. they actually dropped me off at the bart using my car, but i chose to walk back from the bart to pick up my car in the afternoon. they're very honest too -- a small problem came up while fixing my car, and because it was their fault, they went ahead and took care of it and then notified me, even though i wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't said anything. i definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a place to get their japanese car serviced.
